Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides the simplest techniques that anyone could master. Chef Burrell has also worked in several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for culinary arts and cooking from an early age. After obtaining an English as well as Communications degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled in The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the history and philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression in her perspective. Burrell was on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing difficulties. She also serves as a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the United States in her position as a mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her profession and her love for cooking. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able be able to share the passion I have to others.
